There will be no slumber

  • NB: Just thinking about something and this came to mind…
    There will be no slumber

    I am afraid,
    All alone
    Confused, lost
    Broken and worn,

    My eyes are dry
    From tears long shed
And all I wish for now,
    Is a chance to rest…

But there will be no slumber
    For this soldier,
    There are many more wars
    Battles that need fighting.

    A few around me,
    Some in distant lands…
Then there are more within me,
That I don’t know if I can win.

    Will I survive?
I do not know any more…
    I believe that’s a question
That only the future can answer.

There are battles in the world and just as many battles going on inside each one of us…each is different but each is powerful…but none that can not be conquered!!! *smiles*

  • Life is a constant daily battle…. and i wouldn’t have it any other way!
We constantly try not to get run over, have a car accident, protect ourselves and family from those that harm us….
If we did not have things to fear, battle and overcome during our lives then we would all lose the importance of being alive!
Nice poem matty, that points out that to varying degree’s, that many people are true battler’s who do not give up hoping that tommorro will be a better day 🙂
