The Naughty Young Clouds – (Long!)
-
NB: The weatherman on TV explaining the polar blast was boring and he had the story all wrong, this is how it really happen.
If you see any mistakes let me know so I can correct them.
I really hope it makes sense! I finished this very late and a bit sleepy, so I hope I did not miss any words out!
The Naughty Young Cloud
It began
Way up high
In the sky
With a young cloud or five…No one is sure
No one knows why
But these young clouds weren’t happy
And were not very nice…And on a day
Of beautiful sun,
Where windows were open
And the birds sung. These young clouds,
Were watching down
And saw the people of New Zealand
All happy and cheerful. They thought to themselves
As naughty young clouds often do,
That this would be the perfect time
To be rather bratty. So they plotted together
And it didn’t take long
To hatch a mean plan
To cause a lot of trouble. But they couldn’t do it alone,
Not with a plan this big!
So they headed off to Mr Colds house
A grumpy butt who lived to the south!
Mr Cold lived around a lot of snow and cold,
Bad weather of all types!
He even lived in a house of ice
It wasn’t a very happy place at all. When they arrived
At his house of ice,
They knocked on the frozen door
Chuckling about the plan they had plotted,When Mr Cold Answered the door
With a very unwelcoming “What”
And for some reason a cough,
He looked at the young clouds,
Tapping his foot,
He really wasn’t the type to talk…So the young clouds didn’t stall
They went straight to work“Mr Cold”
The young clouds said
Continuing on with their idea so big“We have a plan
Oh yes we do,
A plan that is naughty
And grumpy like youThis plan involves”
There was a short pause for a chuckle
“You blowing your cold breath,
In the direction of New Zealand,
To help create a shivering wind!
That will cause a lot of trouble!!And that combined with some of your snow and ice
Us clouds can go over there
And cause a lot of trouble! Those people there,
They are just way to happy…
And they won’t suspect anything,
And we can watch them panic”Mr Cold,
Who again coughed,
Thought to himself
About this plot…He didn’t think,
That others should be happy,
Which is probably because
He was a cold grumpy butt person…So he agreed,
Taking a big breath
He blew out a very, very long
Cold shivering breath! It was so strong
The young clouds nearly blew away!
But they managed to hang on
As the strong breath became wind. The young clouds said thank you
While stocking up on snow and ice,
They became dark, grey and heavy as they bundled it all up,
While giggling, so naughty, and chuckling the entire timeWhen they had gathered enough
They began to head back to New Zealand,
Where Mr Colds big breath,
Had already begun to cause trouble! The young clouds watched from way up high!
As trees swayed left, then to the right
Giggling as houses creaked
And people shut their windows and scattered inside. The young clouds laughed,
They were truly a naughty bunch,
And finally they said to each other,“I can’t wait to see their faces,
After they see what we got coming next”And all at once without any warning
The naughty young clouds who were grinning,
Threw down all the snow,
All the ice at once
They threw out rain and hail,
And everything else they had stocked upThe people below panicked
Just as they thought they would
But they didn’t expect some of them
To actually be happy cause of it!Children and people of all different kinds
Came out of their houses
Full of smiles…
They played in the snow
And were having fun
The young clouds blinked
They were a little shocked. So the young clouds got grumpy
And decided to throw more!
They went back to Mr Colds house
And stocked up once more! They came back
Not wanting their plan to fail
They threw it all down again
This time it was double! But still some of the people smiled
And played so happily in the snow,
Even though it was chilly cold
New Zealanders spirits were just to strong,
The naughty young clouds could not upset them at all!So the naughty young clouds
Went back to thinking
They needed something more
To get the panic they were expectingBut just as they were plotting
Up something so terrible
There mother the Sunshine showed up
She had been on holiday. She looked at the young clouds
And made a certain noise
“tsk tsk tsk”
She said, while shaking her head,
Then continued on saying,“You young clouds ,
You are in deep trouble!
Stop being mean
To those poor people!
They did nothing to you
And so you shouldn’t do anything to them,
You should apologise,
Or I will really tell you off”The young clouds,
Now fluffy and white again
Looked down ashamed
And all said “yes” to their mother. They then decided to apologize
As they had been told to do
After-all thats what your suppose to do!
After being so naughty and mean to another.Their apology,
Although a little hard to notice
Was by being very quiet
And not causing any trouble,
By letting their mothers sunshine through
And staying out of the way
Which let the sky be a pretty blue
As it was meant to be!So next time you see the skies so cloudy
All thick and grey
Remember that it won’t be forever
Its just them being naughty while their mothers away.
One Response and Counting...
Love the poem Matty, and it does explain things well :).
You asked for any mistakes to be pointed out ?just a couple of mistakes – you have written “As naughty clouds young often do” ? should be “As naughty young clouds often do”. And “While giggling so naughty, the chuckling the entire time..” ? should be “while giggling so naughty, the clouds chuckling the entire time” or “while giggling, so naughty, and chuckling the entire time”
