My site being attack by spam

HELLO EVERYONE!!
My site is being attacked by spam. I sat watching it for 2 hours and I figured out the pattern of how some of it was happening. To help lessen it I moved the category and archive into drop down menus. To use them just click on the drop down and select a month or category.
This is a very strange kind of spam attack, its coming from hundreds of different IP addresses, with no back-links to any specific websites. To make things more confusing every email address is also an individual one. The way it works is it seems to visit 1 page 3 times, then begin going to the home page 3 times, and then going to linked pages on the page. (home, contact, my-cooking)
So by removing the achieve and category links I started getting less spam. I am not entirely sure why this is, but it hasn’t stopped it completely.
I am also manually blocking the ip’s as I can but thats very hard to keep up with.
Anyway! I may just give up and ignore them, its distracting me from writing! Just thought I would let you all know WHY I made some ugly design choices.
