The step I stepped
-
NB: Written by a poor lost Paradise Duckling,ÂIf you see any mistakes let me know! Its hard translating for a ducky. Also Princess Nom Nom listened and helped, so I didn’t write this on my own.
The Step I stepped!
All around me it was exciting
The colors were so amazingly inviting!
The sounds were scary, wonderful and strange
The smells were all new
Life was great!I began that day
With a step or two
Followed by another step.
AND THEN A FEW MORE!As I explored the world
It took me a while to realize…
That I had stepped too far
And now I was lostI looked around,
My safety was gone…
“Mummy…”
I snuffled quietly,
As I gulped.I then called her name
I shouted it loud
But I didn’t hear her call back…
She was no where to be found.I started to Panic,
To run in a circle
I looked up and down
But I couldn’t see her.But then what is this
I heard a noise
A strange one…
I had never heard before.Suddenly out of no where…
Three strange creatures were near me
Two tall ones who looked so far away
But also a close one…
A strange hairy monster
With a nose the size of…
… Well Me!“I am Muri Licks Noses Sniff-a-lot
The First
The Second
And the Third”Announced the hairy creature
As she sniffed at me a lot…
She was rather strange
But I decide friendly to0!I told her my story
About the steps that I took
The steps that stepped me to far…
And got me rather lost. The hairy creature listened
And nodded her large nose
I couldn’t really see anything else
It was really rather large! The Hairy creature then went
And spoke to the tall creatures!
Telling them what I had said
About my steps that took me far away. The next thing I knew
I was being moved
I was taken up so high up
But even from so high…
I couldn’t see my Mummy. They took me up and down
To the left
And to the right
They helped me look everywhere
But it was no use at all.I snuffled and I whimpered
What would I do now
I am lost and not very safe
I’m far to small to look after myself. But one of the tall creatures said
“Do not worry you will be ok,
Since we can’t find your Mummy
We will find you a place to stay”I was kept rather warm
And also kept rather safe
I was taken on an adventure
One of the biggest that had ever been!
For someone as small as me!I am not so sure what happened then
I think I fell asleep…
But I felt safe but a little sad
I just wanted a home again. The next morning I saw the tall creatures again!
They told me that they had an idea
That although we couldn’t find my Mummy…
That they had found me a safe place for meI was then taken once more…
I think I fell asleep again though
To this place that was safe to be,
And there I was amazed…
To see another like me!We spoke of our grand adventures
And how we had stepped our steps too far
We snuggled up next to each other!
As I watched the tall creatures speak to another tall creatureThe Two tall creatures who I had met first
Said their goodbyes to me and disappeared
This new tall creature did indeed keep me warm!
She also gave me delicious tasty things as well.Us two small steppers thought and thought
We spoke about this tall creature that cared for us
She kept us clean, she kept us warm
She even kept us well fed on yummies! We did miss our Mummy’s so very much
But we decided this tall creature
Must be an honorary Mummy Duck!
She did such a good job
We both decided we would stay.
At least for now anyway! So I guess what I’m saying,
Is sometimes life can be scary…
We can get ourselves lost…
And end up on big adventures
But if we do… its not the end of the world
We can always find a new home for ourselves
And its okay have to have help to do so.

Matty what a great story. It reminds me of the poor little duckies we have in our yard that get lost. Me and my wife always pick them up and help them find there moms. They never forget that we help them and they always come back to our house when they get lost again.
This story puts a big smile on my face
Soooooo cuuuuuuute!!! The little duck is lucky people came along. :3
Very nice story, Matty 🙂 I’m glad you and your friends were able to help the little duck! I’m glad Muri could help, too!
