The travellers lesson – (Short story/note)

  • NB: Something very old and from my void folder, but I decided I would post it today! I have changed this some over the years and for some reason always come back to it. I guess I want to believe the lesson.

I travel and explore, visit, taste and touch the world.
People have often asked me – what’s it like in lands so far,

    I always answered the same.
“The sky is up, the ground is down… people are always people and time is always passing by.”

But today I have learned something else, something I had neglected for so long…
That in lands afar, as I adventure into the unknown
There is another constant of life. Another certainty although at times forgotten…

    There is beauty.
    Beauty everywhere.
That no matter where you go, you can find a miracle…
That out of the millions of combinations possible… it is that rock before you now…
And that is why I shall now say.

“The sky is up, the ground is down.. and while people are always people, beauty always surrounds them… and time is always passing by…”
