The longing (Poem)

  • NB: The title of this may change, for now its just called The Longing.

    The Longing

Upon a day since past to time
I lay upon some grass so fine
The sun was smiling, so very high
And the trees around stood quietly by
As I looked up… to disbelief
To see the clouds above me dancing.

    I watched them twist
    Turn and string
    I watched them dance…
    And move in swing.
    So beautifully happy,
    I took a breath…
    And I just stared
    Vowing to remember this.

    Though as days changed
    As time moved on…
    I wonder if this memory
    Is one to let go?
    For although so grand
    Full of glee…
I know in my heart that it has been.

    And as I sit here,
    Thinking out loud…
    I dream so fondly
    With such a longing…
    To travel back,
    To be where I was,
    To be in that place
    Where perfection dwelled

On that grass so very fine
    Underneath a smiling sun,
    With quiet trees…
    In disbelief…
    Watching those clouds
    As they danced for me

I sense your emotion of something lost in this poem. It gives the poem a rawness of emotion and hurt . Give things time my friend. Time heals xxx

  • Lovely!
