Belonging online

  • NB: Just having some struggles lately.

    Belonging online

This world to me is so foreign
But the internet… well its even more so.
I wish so much to belong somewhere.
But everywhere I seem to go…
Well… They make it hard to stay or even ask me to leave.

One thing I have noticed is…
That when you dislike how someone is acting
    You often get told
“You shouldn’t be on the internet”

As if there is some kind of … I guess law?
About how people on the internet are suppose to be?
That you have to accept people can be mean and…
That turning things people suffer with into a joke is okay?

    I don’t know…
What I do know though is …
I am feeling rather scared with a question.
If there is no where on earth to belong, Do I belong on earth?

Well, you absolutely and completely do belong, Matty. It’s really as simple as that. We’re blessed to have you on the internet and on this Earth. Anyone who expresses something contrary to this is simply ignorantly and inexcusably wrong.

    Much love,

A lot of times, people tell others they shouldn’t be on the internet or someplace in the world because they want power over who is in that place. Just because they say so doesn’t make it actually so. The internet and the world is for everyone.

  • <3 Matty. You belong here, and, weirdly enough, so do those sad people who say nasty things to you. We all belong here and make up this amazing world together. Weird, huh. Love you!

  • Matty you do belong on the internet and in this world. There are always those who will say nasty things and play power games, it’s the only way they can feel good about themselves.
Just remember Matty we are all different and we all share this world and the net. just block those too ignorant to share well and remember you have lots of friends who love you. Hugs Hun.
