I am Brave
You may look at me as very strange
But really I am very brave
As I wear ear muffs through the mall
While clinging to my toy who makes me strong.And although I am so very confused,
Often times looking aloof…
It doesn’t make me less than you.
I am exactly the same you see, its true.Just Autism seems to be in my brain.
Its a strange thing that I will try to explain….It makes the lights very loud,
Smells as if they have magic powers,
The Sounds they hurt my brain so much
And the touch I feel, just tells me “ouch”The peoples faces that I see…
I constantly wonder what they mean.
Are they friendly or are they mad?
I worry a lot as I walk my steps.I really hope you’re afraid
As you look at me so very strange
Please know that I am very brave…
Just different… but not in a bad way.

Very nice poem! Everyone is different, and sometimes people want to really focus on the negatives even if its not hurting anyone else. You be you and do what’s comfortable. You’re a strong person. 🙂
