But Then came the goose – By Matty Angel
The blanket was laid
The food was arranged
The plates were set
It was a picnic dayBUT THEN CAME THE GOOSE
With a very loud CRASH
Then with a loud honk!
All that was left
Was a one very large mess.–
The children were playing
Passing a ball
There were giggles
Laughter,
Joy from allBUT THEN CAME THE GOOSE
And with tears from the children
Then with a loud honk!
All that was left
Was a ball laying still.–
The dog was happy
Sitting on the porch
Laying in the sun
Watching the world.BUT THEN CAME THE GOOSE
And with a wail, yelp, scuttle
Then with a loud honk!
All that was left
Was a very empty spot.–
Old Farmer Helen
Was tending to her herd
Enjoying the day
Doing her workBUT THEN CAME THE GOOSE
The chickens and fled in panic
Then with a loud honk!
All that what was left
Was a farmer hiding in her truck.–
The lake was quiet
The sun was bright,
It was peaceful and still
As the ducks floated quietly…BUT THEN CAME THE GOOSE
The ducks fled loudly,
Then with a loud honk!
All that was left
Was ripples everywhere–
The goose then swam about
On the lake alone…
At last things were settled…
Till he saw a picnic by the lake shoreAND THEN CAME THE GOOSE.
