Once Upon a Hill of Oats (Childrens, poem)

  • Once Upon a Hill of Oats

Once upon a hill of oats
There sat a Goat whose name was Tote
His eyes said Oh Gosh I’m hungry
But his tummy said NO more for me!

Tote the Goat had eaten his fill
His tummy was, so big and full
He couldn’t stand no more at all
So he lay upon his Hill.

It was then the farmer came
Opening the barn to such a state
Oh goodness she said to the sight
At Tote the Goat on his Hill of Oats

She made her way to the top
Pushing on Tote to get him up
But Tote the Goat would not move
He was so round and very full.

So the farmer had a great idea
She went and got her tractor instead
And then a rope to tie to his waist
Hoisting Tote right out of Place.

Then she got out and began to push
Rolling tote to his pen of course
NO more Oats she said to him!
Closing the fence with a big breath

Tote the goat lay so quietly
    Thinking about his adventure brightly
The Hill of Oats was not his at all
He had snuck in to eat them all

Then as he lay unable to stand
Burping due to his eating habits
He came to a single thought

To much of a good thing
    Can be bad as well.
