The Poor Tongue (Story)

  • NB: this is a very very very silly story, written about a certain someone I know who swears to much. I know many of you will not get it and that is ok. Its just a reminder not to swear! Its not very well written but … I really didn’t put much effort in it. I hope the person who its for giggles though. =)

    The Poor Tongue!

    There once was a boy
Who very much loved to cuss…
    He said bad words here
    He said bad words there..

    But what he didn’t know
While he said these bad words
Was that his tongue was getting grumpy
    Frustrated and mad.

    And so over time
    As his words got worse
His tongue began to get annoyed
And eventually while he was asleep…

    Well his tongue ran away!
    Packing its bags
    “Goodbye” the tongue said
“I have had enough of your bad words”

    And so when boy awoke
He was met with a shock
    He felt really strange
And was rather confused at first

The boy went to a mirror
    He opened his mouth wide
And inside was a little note that read…
“I will come back when your words are better”

The Poor boy was a little scared,
What was he suppose to do…?
    Live without a tongue?
Could such a thing be done?

    First he tried to eat,
    Finding hard to swallow
Without a tongue to shove things down
    It was rather difficult!

He then tried to brush his teeth
But found it hard to brush properly!
And when it came time to spit…
Well he couldn’t, not one bit!

But what made him most upset you know,
    About this whole ordeal…
    Was when he finally realized
He couldn’t taste his “favourite” foods!

The boy had to fix this
    Something had to be done
    Living without a tongue
    Was just no fun.

    So he packed his bags
    He prepared for an adventure
To find his tongue and make up
    And fix this horrible dilemma!

The boy travelled up mountains way up high
Through caves so dark it chilled the spine,
He went through cities, small and big
Around the world, a hundred times ten!

Wherever he went he asked around
About news of where he might find his tongue
And wherever he went it wasn’t hard
To find stories and signs his tongue had been close!

Then finally… after such a long quest
He caught up at last with his travelling Tongue
He went on his knees, and with cards to talk
    Said sorry to his tongue,
    Over and over.

    “I will not swear,
    I will not curse,
    There shall be no cussing
    No more bad words!
    I learned my lesson
    I know I was wrong
My bad words made you leave
    Please come back home”

    The tongue looked at him
    And they both agreed
    One last chance…
For this boy it would be!
    And as the tongue returned
    To the place it belonged
The boy quickly got ice cream!
    And he ate it all

    “I can taste again!
    He said so excited…
    And I can talk to!
Oh my life is exciting again!”

And as he travelled back home
    He thought about it all
    About this whole adventure,
    Of sorrows, trouble and consequences…

He thought about what he had learned
    From this whole ordeal…
    That cussing was wrong…
    That tongues have feelings

That you have to look after your body
    You have to be careful
You don’t wash yourself with tar
    You don’t drink poison
And you don’t expose your tongue to bad words…
Cause without a tongue life is horrible.
