Hello! My name is Matty, I am a girl and I am 36 years old, I am from New Zealand, and I have written all the content on this website myself! (Apart from some help with editing sometimes)
Writing for me is a way for me to show people that I love them, or for me to say something that is hard, or just to share something silly. A lot of the children’s stories involve characters in my real life, friends or toys! Even my kitty cat!
I have some disabilities, and I do not think I am very smart at times. I need people to be patient with me. I get afraid a lot, I am a very sensitive and a gentle person. I don’t want anyone hurt and am always afraid I will hurt others.
A lot of these poems were written for special people in my life, I have a lot of people in my life who I love A LOT!! Including my dearest friend Madison, who passed away in 2006.
These poems and art works are mine. I hope no one ever uses them for gain without my permission, and one day I dream to have a book! If you wish to show others my art or poems, please link to the website directly and please do not republish without permission, this means you should ask me before you do anything with my work or words 🙂 I often sell art and signed copies of my poems, if you ever wish to buy one contact me!

I am also an Artist and am usually working on an art project at the same time as a writing one! I hold a entry level certificate in Creative-Arts from Wel-Tec, a technical institute in Wellington. I have worked with other artists before on projects and love to paint. My art is very abstract sometimes.

Matty is a 36 year old girl who is an Autistic Poet, Writer and Artist and lives alone in Christchurch New Zealand with a kitty! Matty has given many talks on autism and about being unique in a world that's often not accepting, Matty has also engaged with artist and worked on Art projects Matty usually works on an Art project at the same time as a writing one! This means posts can be a bit delayed!

Sailed down rivers ,on leaves,in a stream
I have ridden on horse -back unbridled,free

I have been reading your poems and stories and think you are amazing. Whilst you might find it hard to talk to people in real life you definitely have a way with written words. Your sad poems make me feel sad and your happy poems put a smile on my dial!!

You have an amazing talent at being able to express yourself through the written word. I like the way you use stories to express your feelings and to add clarity to a topsy-turvy world, especially in Christchurch. You can arouse all my different emotions, depending on what poem or story I am reading. I laugh at some of the antics of Princess Nom Nom (sometimes I wish I could be an animal) and I can feel sorrow in some of the sad poems. I also like the photos you have added to this website. You have enriched my world by sharing yours.
