NB: Written for my friend with Autism who is struggling.
It won’t ever be easy.
I am sorry I cannot lie
No day will be easy, Nor no night
Living with unbalance is hard in life
Autism brings a lot of strifeSensory overloads
Understanding social cues,
Processing problems
Issues learning tooRoutines to be kept
Meltdowns that destroy
Self injurious behavior
Frustration and tearsCommunication will be hard
Misunderstandings common
People won’t forgive…
And they will mistake your honestyYet even with all of this
Your disabilities don’t define you
You can still be someone unique
Beyond the labels and judgementFriends can be made
Complications worked through
It may take some time
But the journey is worth it.
