I hate I hate, I love, I Love – Earthquakes
-
NB: I put this in both love and dark categories. Because… it is both, I love the world moving forward, after troubles… but this poem does bring up sadness for me when I read it.
I hate I hate, I love, I Love – EarthquakesI hate earthquakes
I hate
I hate
I hateI hate the rumble
I hate the shake
I hate the lake that forms, the one on my lawn
I hate the mess from the falls
I hate the broken toys
I hate the sand and dust,
I hate the buildings of rubble…
I hate having to find my lost cat
I hate the interrupted mail service
I hate birds being missing,
I hate the broken paths and broken roads…
I hate the busy days that follow, and the silent tears with lonelinessBut despite all this hate, there is some things that I love
I love that I am still here and have survived it all,
I love that I found my cat when so many have not
I love how everyone, now says hello to strangers,
I love that we can start over, without dark-age rules for our future
I love how everyone now appreciates nature,
I love how there are less cars and more people are walking
I love how water is no longer taken for granted
I love that we are being smarter, about where we build our houses
I love how the companies assisted me with paying my bills when they were late,
I love how the organizations I work with, took time to check up on me
I love how people are helping each other, even if they don’t know them…
I love that when something breaks, I can easily let it go.So although I hate earthquakes and I truly do
I love ,
I love,
I love,
The moving forward and closeness.

hi ya matty, 🙂 I really like your latest poem it is great that you have found so much to love after the earthquakes. Following your journey on messageboards has been great, I have laughed, cried, and smiled many times at your comments and the awesome people that have rallied around to help you, I think it has also been good for you to make so many new friends, it seems to be making you braver. Keep smiling, keep warm, keep writing. All the best.
Another favourite poem, Matty – thanks for writing it :).
You are amazing, so simple yet so true. Never give up Matty!
