I love my friends =) (poem)

NB: I am having trouble writing lately as you know… I have a lot going on offline and part of that is a lot of thinking. I wrote this in that thinking tonight. I really hope it reads ok.
I love my friends.
I remember it was not so long ago
That I was lonely…
And felt so lost,
I cried so sadly
And didn’t know home…
Afraid and scared of what was unknownYet here I am now…
Blessed and loved!
With all these people
Who care so much.
Surrounded by safety
Those I call friends.
How lucky it is that I have them.But do I deserve them?
I’m not really sure…
Its hard to work out
I mean… How do you work it out?
How does one place a value upon themselves
Calculate their worth, their deserving and right…But I know that I can’t dwell on that,
Because here I am!
Here they are!
This is how it is!So I will try my best… My best not to question it
Not to question my being, and enjoy what is.
To smile at the fact I have a place to call home,
Friends that love me and who I can love back,
That I won’t be alone and the past is past…
But most of all… that the future isn’t dark.I love my friends
And can’t imagine life without them,
I just want them to know that…
They really mean that much.Love Matty =)

Friends make the world go round and I am glad that you have some special ones in your life.
Even in the darkest of times your true friends are always there to help you through it. So many o your poems and stories have helped me through some dark times, so you are a TRUE friend of mine . Thanks for always being there for us even though you may not know you are!

Lovely poem Matty. The question of ‘Do I deserve…’ is one that I think everyone asks themselves at some time in their life. The answer is one that you should learn, it is yes you do deserve all the good things in life and yes you are a wonderful, unique, gifted and beautiful human being.
