Remember that I love you (Poem)

NB: Sometimes I can get quite sad, feel lonely, confused, overwhelmed and scared. (Although not for a while) —  When I get this way I can forget the light, the beauty, the miracles (people) and the love that is out there. So this poem is for my special friends, the ones who can feel like I feel sometimes… a poem to remind them that I love them… and that this world can be… a bit brighter than it seems sometimes.
I hope you all like this, it was very hard to write and a lot of thought went into it.
Remember that I love you
Believe me now, I know it true
This world of ours can be so cruel,
Dark and gloomy, sorrowful and blue
Full of hate and anger too.I know at times it can be lonely,
Make you feel lost and confused…
Seem so scary and overwhelming
And bring up tears that keep on goingBut I also know this world is beautiful,
Full of miracles unexplained
Amazing things that can make you smile
And people like me who truly care…So when things feel terrifying – Remember that I love you
When your eyes fill with tears – Remember that I love you
When you can’t look in the mirror… – Remember that I love you
If you can’t see past the storms… – Remember that I love you
If you think of death and pain, – Remember that I love you…
Remember that I love you,
Remember that I love youAnd with this love, make yourself strong
Know that you are not alone,
That things so dark can slowly pass…
And that this world of ours can be beautiful as well.
About The Author
Matty is a 37 year old girl who is an Autistic Poet, Writer and Artist and lives alone in Christchurch New Zealand with a kitty! Matty has given many talks on autism and about being unique in a world that's often not accepting, Matty has also engaged with artist and worked on Art projects Matty usually works on an Art project at the same time as a writing one! This means posts can be a bit delayed!

Loved the poem, as usual from the heart. I know whatever is making your heart this sad will work its way into laughter again.
