Home Home where is Home (Story! Happy!)

  • NB: Hey everyone, before I got sick I was working on this story and never got to finish it. There maybe some mistakes feel free to point them out so I can fix them! I feel a tiny bit better, although still coughing… and managed to finish this for you all. I hope you all enjoy it. I giggled writing it.

Home Home where is Home – By Matty Angel

It had been a happy day
For the little girl sitting by the tree
    She stretched and stood
    Yawned and grinned
    “To home” she said…
    “But… Oh no…
    where is that?”

    “Hmmm” she thought…
    Trying to get an idea.
    She scratched her head,
    Unsure what way to go

Perhaps I should go and find someone?
… And then they can show me home?
Oh yes she said, this is perfect
This is the best idea I’ve had.

    So off she walked
    And walked and walked
And walked and walked and walked
    Until… unexpectedly

    BUMP!

Then she fell on her bottom
    And looked right up
    And looking back down
    An elephant stood

    She tilted her head,
    HELLO! She said
    As the elephant peered
    Looking at the little girl

Hello said the elephant “Are you lost?”
“Well yes I am, ” said the little girl
“I don’t know where is home”

    The elephant thought and thought
    And thought
“You know home is to easy to find
    Just stand under this tree!”
    It Works for me!”

“Oh no” Said the little girl
    “I can’t live here!
    That’s an elephant home!
And I am not an elephant!”

The elephant nodded as he sat under the tree
“Well perhaps the turtle knows where your home is?
He is on the rock down there!”

    The little girl got up
    She said her goodbyes
    “Thank you! Elephant”
And then walked and walked and walked
And walked and walked and walked
Until she found a turtle sitting on a rock

    He seemed asleep
And she didn’t want to be rude
    “Excuse me she said
As she knocked on his shell so gently.”

    “Yaaawwwwwnnnnn” went the turtle
    Opening his eyes
    “Yes little girl?
Why did you wake me up?”

    “Well Mr Turtle”
    She said very politely
    “The elephant told me
That you might know where my home is.”

    “Well” the turtle said
    Rather wise and smart
    “That is an easy question
Your home is on your back!”

“Oh no” Said the little girl
“I don’t have a house on my back!
    That’s a turtle home!
And I am not a turtle!”

The turtle nodded although a bit confused
“Well perhaps the Dog knows where your home is?
He is up on that hill!”

The little girl began to leave
She said her goodbyes “Thank you Turtle!”
And then walked and walked and walked
And walked and walked and walked
Until she found a Dog sitting on the hill.

    “PLAY!” Said Mr Dog
Before the little girl could speak
    “PLAY PLAY PLAY!”
    He said in repeat.

“Oh no” Said the little girl
    “I can’t play!
    I need to find home
    Do you know the way?”

    The Dog had a think
    As his tail wagged about
“I think I do, follow me!”
    He said excitedly

He then led the girl to a strange little house
    Rather small, with no door
And only as tall as the dog!
There was just one room and nothing else…

    “Is this your house!”
Said the Dog wagging his tail
    “Its small and cosy
    And it fits me perfect”

“Oh no” Said the little girl
    “I can’t live here
    That’s a Dog house!
And I am not a Dog!”

    The Dog nodded,
“Well perhaps the cat knows where your home is?
She is in that big place RIGHT THERE!”

The little girl began to leave
    She said her goodbyes
“I will come and play soon!”
    And then walked
    But not very far!
Until she found a cat sitting on a porch

    “Excuse me Miss Kitty”
    Said the little girl
    “Yes?” Said the cat,
    In a rather serious tone.

    She then told the story
Of the Elephant, Turtle and Dog
    And the journey to home
    Wherever home was…

    The cat listened,
    And nodded her head
“I know where you live, follow me”
    Said the cat, rather assuringly.

She then led the little girl through a very big door
Down a hall and to a room full of toys.
Inside a bed, pictures and drawers
The cat jumped up and curled up into a ball

    “Is this you’re house!”
Said the Cat with a purr
    “Its my place…
    I come here often”

“Oh yes” Said the little girl
    “I do live here!
But this is a persons house!
    And you are a cat!”

    The cat just listened…
    Nodded her head
    “Well…” She said
“Its okay if you think that…”
