The Bothersome Tree Stump – Part 1

  • NB: 5 weeks in the making, this is probably the longest story I have written in a very long time. I never intended on it being this long… ACK! I am so sorry everyone! Its so long I will release it in parts! I hope everyone’s ok with that, I wonder how many parts this will end up being.

I wrote this for my bestest friend Helen! Because she left a comment on one of my other stories asking for help moving her Tree Stump, hehe I told her I would see what I could do!

The Bothersome Tree Stump -Part 1

    The tree had fallen
    The tree was gone!
    To firewood it became
    And it was no more!

    But what remained
    And was rather a pain
A tree stump, a tree stump,
    A tree stump had stayed!

    The stump was stuck
    It would not budge!
    And where it was…
    Was a place,
    That was most perfect…
    For other stuff!

    A very royal goat,
    Who was passing by,
    Stopped at the stump
    Looking at it rather stumped,
And then in a loud voice,
    He said to the world.

    “I see this stump,
    That sits right here
In a place that’s most perfect
    So many other things!
    I Prince Epic, Possibly a Moose…
    I Declare,
    Yes I do,
    That this here stump,
    MUST BE MOVED!

    Prince Epic, Possibly a Moose
Was in fact the most Royalist goat
    You could ever know!!
So he did as most Royal Goats would do
    At least in the land
    Where Fort Goat stands tall!

    He went and got
    The Honorable Queen Helen,
    The ruler of Fort Goat
And the keeper of good food!

    He pointed at the stump
    Yes he did,
Then he told her his bother,
With a kind of grumble like tone.

    “Queen Helen, my dear friend,
You see this here tree stump,
    Its in the way,
    Yes it is
    Of where is most perfect
    For so much other stuff!”

    Queen Helen and Prince Epic
Who may possibly be a moose…
Sat there staring at the stump…
    Thinking what to do.

    First tried to push it
    Of course that didn’t work
Then they tried to kick it our…
But that only made their feet hurt.

    They thought and they thought,
    With a few “Hmm’s”
    and some “Hummm’s”
    They even scratched there heads,
    Followed by some chin rubbing,
And after doing these thinking things,
They were still no better off…
    On deciding what to do
So that the stumps perfect spot
Could be used for so much other stuff.

It was just at this moment,
That Sheila Puppy was walking by,
    A very fluffy white puppy
Who usually had her tongue out!
She stopped by the thinking goat,
And the thinking Honorable Queen Helen
    “What are you all doing”
    She asked,
    Tilting her head in wonder.

Prince Epic, who may possibly be a moose
    Told Sheila Puppy all about
    His bother with the stump.

He told her about how its in a spot
That is most perfect for other stuff!
How they had tried to move it
    With the pushing and kicking…
    But also he told her,
How they had so far had no luck!

    Sheila Puppy said
Finally when she had a chance

    “I have an idea!”

    And the two thinkers replied

    “What!!”

    Sheila Puppy reminded them
About the Sickness Queen Helen had one time,
And about how they went and got everyone
From all the different lands to help!
She told them they should use that idea,
But instead to move the Stump!

    “Lets get the smartest movers!
From lands close, far and near.
Who can help us get the stump from here
    To some place very elsewhere!”

    They all nodded,
It was a very smart plan indeed!
    And so Sheila Puppy,
Because she is an expert at wandering…
Began a journey like she had done before,
To help solve a problem that wasn’t hers at all!
