THE SECRET SERIES – 4 – THE SECRET OF MILDRED PUDDLES PECK-A-LOT

  • NB: Number 4 in the secret series! I will put them all together soon! There is more secrets to come too!

    This is the secret of a real chicken, called Mildred, who chases my feet and pecks my gumboots, so I asked her why and if she has a secret to share, AND SHE DID.

    The secret of Mildred Puddles Peckalot

    A secret, a secret
    Us chickens
    Have Many.
    But you asked for just one
    So I will share one
    But not two.

    My secret is rather large
    If it got out it would ruin me…
    For you see I am quite popular
    Since I do not really have feathers.

    You see I am very fluffy
    So consider this a fluffy secret,
    Now you promise not to share it…
    Right?
    You better keep that promise!

    My secret is
    That I Mildred Puddles Peck-a-lot
    Do not really hate Gumboots
    Like I pretend I do so well.

    You see…
    I spend most my day
    With a group of other hens
    Who all wish to be as popular
    As I am some day.

    And we usually talk about fashion
    Since I am so stylish with my fluffy look
    But one thing we talk about often
    Is how Gumboots are so ugly.

    But the truth is that I like them
    No the truth is that I LOVE them!
    I love their many colours,
    I love black ones and purple ones
    And ones with pictures on them,
    I Even love muddy ones!

    When I peck them when they’re by me
    Its really just for show!
    I don’t hate them at all
    Its just I like being so popular!

    If I were to let everyone know
    How much that I love Gumboots so,
    I have no doubt I won’t be so popular
    And that the other chickens would ignore me.

    So now you know my deepest secret…
    Remember to keep your promise!
    Don’t share it with anyone!
    And know when I peck Gumboots grumpily
    Its really that I love them.

    Maybe Mildred should get herself a pair of fashion patterned gumboots and start a new trend around the henhouse. Poor girl…
