Ghost

  • NB: This is a very sad poem, one about the past… about being invisible… despite so many around you. Though I do have to say despite the past being sad. I am much happier now than I have been in years.

    GHOST

    I walked as a ghost
    Ignored by the world
    Given no reward
    Yet no punishment too.

    Not shown love
    But not shown hate
    I wandered about
    Confused and afraid

    And after a time
    I questioned life…
If no one knows you exist…
    Then you can’t exist? Right?

    And from this question
    Stemmed a desire to die
    Not to end my life…
But to find out if I was alive.

    And while on this journey
    Wandering as a ghost
    I stumbled upon someone
    Who said hello…

    Baffled, confused
    Shaken and in tears…
    I realized I the ghost…
    Really was here…

    And upon this realization
    I only had  one question…
    If I was always here…
Then why was I a ghost them?
