If the power goes out in snow – Check list –
-
Well its snowing badly here. Stay warm everyone. Heres my check list for if the power flickers and might go out.
—When power is flickering —
PUT YOUR CELL PHONE ON THE CHARGER NOW!
Keep Medical kit and torch somewhere easy to get to, like a coffee table.
Keep blankets on the couch, or easy to get to place. And your jacket(s) to 🙂
Keep towels with spare clothes and blankets, in case you get wet, or you need to wipe something like condensation water puddles!
Put spare set of clothes with your blankets and medical kit, in-case you go outside and get wet, so you don’t have to try find some things in the dark… ESPECIALLY SOCKS!! Won’t be good if you got trench-foot!!
Keep bottles of water in a place you can get them, without accidentally knocking over anything in your kitchen. Remember water can go out as pipes freeze
Keep dry food somewhere to get to easily, preferably in a sealed container
Keep kitty and dog food in a place you can get them without having to go through cupboards or in the dark 🙂 and also so you can take it with you if you decide to leave the house with your pet to a neighbours or so on 🙂
Turn your computer off if your computer is not surge protected,
Keep radio somewhere that you can use, this is important if you live alone. :)!
Make sure there is a pen in your medical kit and some paper, – just in case you leave your home and need to leave a note for others who may live in your house, so they do not worry where you are gone to 🙂 even if your going for just a small walk out in the snow, its very slippery and you may slip and fall, so keeping people informed is important!!
Make sure you have your medic alerts on, if you wear them! 🙂
Make sure all medicine is easy to get to for you AND for others in case you need it!!
And If you live on a staircase on a second floor, Make sure you keep something by your door to break ice before you go down, so you don’t slip!
Make sure you clear the heat pump of snow and ice 🙂 so that it does not freeze over and stop working..
BE SAFE AND WARMS EVERYONE!!!
