Once Upon a Time a small girl braved an adventure. (Poem)

  • Once upon a time
A small girl braved an adventure.

    She ventured far from home,
    Meeting many interesting strangers.

She saw people come and go
And moved from place to place
    Until she found a home…
And at last she felt safe.

This safety bought so many things
    Those who she could love,
    People she could trust,
And dreams so wild and big…
    That could possibly come true.

    She worked upon those dreams
    Even when they were scary
She achieved so much so fast
    That people forgot her past

But she did not at all
She knew where she had come from
    And she was proud
Even when others thought she could do more.

What is coming next for this girl?
    Well… I suppose that’s a mystery…
But she will keep going on
    Remembering where shes been.

  • A beautiful poem, Mattie! The little girl SHOULD be proud of where she has come from. SHe sounds like she has a great deal of determination and perseverance. She’s a real hero!
