PTSD (Poem on PTSD)

  • PTSD

    I feel distorted
    Time not straight
    Nothing makes sense
    Its all out of place
    I jump from points
    From here to there
    Its hard on my mind
    It makes me scared

    And I guess that’s why
    I struggle in life
    The rhythm of the world
    It just ain’t right
    I need a bigger picture
    To see it all
    So I can make sense
    Of my whole world

    To summarize
    Or to help you understand
    Everything…
    It happens again and again
    From those earliest memories
    To those more recent
    So many are painful
And I am forced to see them

    I hope one day
    I get some rest
    A break in the visions
    Thoughts that haunt my head
    A straight line
    Just made of time
    So I can finally say
    Hello, goodbye.
