Welcome to the Farm Little Chick! (Childrens short story/poem)

  • NB: My online friends farm recently has a new little chick :)

Welcome to the Farm Little Chick!

Mother Hen looked at her egg
    “Its nearly time!” She said
As all the farm came to see
    Pony, Goat, Duck and Cow

With all eyes on egg it began to wiggle,
Then the sound of little pecks,
    As it began cracking…
    And slowly with some scratches
    The shell broke apart
    All those watching
    Were so excited but quiet.

    Slowly a little chick
Made her way out of the shell
    Fluffing little feathers
    With a cheep cheep hello.

    She looked at Mother Hen
    Who looked back with love
    “Welcome to our strange family”
She said, As she snuggled her under her wing

    Pony, Goat, Duck and Cow
All said welcome to the farm.
    Little chick had arrived safely
And their family was now one more!

What a wonderful poetic story of the little chick’s birth at the farm! I’m honored to know both you as the author of this story and the woman who owns the farm where this little chick will reside! What a beautiful way to begin my day today! Thank you Miss Matty!
