Oh Dear child (poem)

  • NB: Thinking to myself on a quiet day while watching the news….

    Oh Dear child

    Oh Dear child
    Please don’t be WE
    For WE have failed
    And left only misery

    WE gave into greed
    Bathed in hate
    Destroyed what WE loved
    And stomped on the weak.

    WE looked the other way
    To avoid all the pain
    But then WE forgot reality
    As the world fell away

    Oh Dear child
    Please don’t be WE
    For WE have failed
    Learn from our mistakes.
